Our private lyceum “Academy of Wisdom” is located in the beautiful town of Bucha. We have smart and active students who study subjects and develop their skills. Our students participate in city-level competitions and win prizes. We are very proud of them! Most importantly, they are learning and building their personal relationship with God.  We want our school to grow so that we can teach more children and tell them about Jesus. To achieve this, we need large and spacious classrooms that create a comfortable environment for learning and socializing. After all, our lyceum has the most important mission – to introduce children to God!

Today, elementary school students study on the first floor of the institute’s dormitory, while middle and high school students study in the administration building. But the classrooms in these buildings are very small, which creates a lot of inconvenience. When the sirens sound, kids hide in the basements. Unfortunately, we do not have a bomb shelter. Even in our city, there are no schools with bomb shelters. At the beginning of the war, people came to us to hide in the basement to feel safe. We could barely all fit in the hallways because the classrooms were very small and the corridors were narrow. We don’t have that much space to accommodate people. During the war, having a bomb shelter is very important for the safety of students and staff. It can provide protection from attacks and dangers, and help save lives and health in case of danger. If we have a bomb shelter, it will be a protection for the children of the school, for the students, for all the staff, and even for people from the city.

Before the war began, a project for a 2-story school building was developed. However, due to the war, the problem arose that we needed a bomb shelter because the shelter we have now is the simplest and most temporary. It was accepted by the state inspectors authorities on the condition that a solid bomb shelter would be built as soon as possible.

The simplest temporary shelter we have now (photo below) is a basement room with sandbags covering the windows. Its size does not allow for a good educational process during air raids, as 2-3 classes gather in one room. We have air raids several times a week, so the quality of educational services is decreasing. 

With God’s help, we now have a concrete “box” of a bomb shelter built (photo below). To be able to take students to this bomb shelter, we need to complete the interior work and equip it. We are not asking for the entire amount to cover all the expenses. We will be grateful for part of it, or any donation sent with an open heart.
